NAMS Certified Nutrition Consultant
Ron Parmeter is a former competitive natural Pro bodybuilder, a husband, father and retired Police Detective.
In his late teens, Ron was playing high school hockey and began training with weights to increase his size and to add more strength. He fell in love with weightlifting during this time.
In April of 2002, a year after college hockey was over, Ron was involved in a motorcycle accident which resulted in numerous broken ribs, a collapsed lung and several broken bones in his back. He became sedentary during his recovery and over several months gained nearly 40 pounds and fell into a depressive state.
Ron knew he needed a goal to help motivate himself to get back into shape. He became aware of a local bodybuilding show that was the following Spring. Over the course of less than a year, Ron recovered from his injuries and started learning the basics of calorie counting. He signed up for the bodybuilding show and lost nearly 50 pounds in preparation for this show, using the very basics of calorie counting and daily cardiovascular activity.
In the Spring of 2003, he competed in his first bodybuilding show and took 3rd place in the Novice class, and continued to compete over the next 14 years. Ron obtained his Pro status in the NGA, OCB and USBF natural bodybuilding organizations, placing first in numerous shows. His last Pro competition was the 2017 PNBA Phillip Ricardo Classic, where he won the Pro Bodybuilding class.
During his 20-year Police career he was an operator on a Special Response Team, lead instructor for Defensive Tactics and Physical Training in the Police Academy. The last 7 years of his career he was a Detective, and part of a Narcotics Task Force. He retired in April of 2024.
Ron was able to complete all this while also being a devoted husband and father. He did so by creating structure within his nutrition and training that can be readily incorporated into your life to help you become the best version of yourself.
